In June 2020, a board resolution was passed that stated “BE IT RESOLVED, that clubs adding 30+ members in a calendar month be required to obtain authorization from the district governor and first vice district governor and if an agreement cannot be reached, the constitutional area leader will make the final decision.”.
The approvals can done via electronic approval utilizing their email on file. Should there be a disagreement, the Constitutional Area Leader will be contacted to make the final decision on whether or not the additional Lions can be added. Should the club not be authorized to add more than 30 members, staff will ask the club to drop members to reduce new members joined to 30. Should the club fail to drop these additional members, all new members during the same month will be dropped. A credit will be applied to the club for entrance fees or dues incurred from these dropped members.
